a story about place and hand craftsmanship

graduate collection

My honours graduate collection ‘A Handcrafted Place’, is a luxury women’s resort collection that tells a story about place and hand craftsmanship, specifically how traditional textile techniques seen in Greek culture can be maintained and kept alive in a contemporary fashion context.

A textile driven approach has allowed for a richness in materiality. Traditional methods of hand weaving and drawn thread needlework are key textile aspects of the collection, complemented by the incorporation of vintage sourced doilies and tablecloths.

The collection is soft, breezy and sophisticated; yet fun, fresh and feminine. It perfectly encapsulates a sense of heritage, tradition, and my Greek cultural identity.

This collection has been generously sponsored by the Australian Wool Education Trust. Photography: Jen Wijaya || Model: Cosette Fielding
